* Establishes relationships with clinical leaders and staff and
advocates the use of standardized practices and patient safety in
all areas involving biomedical engineering.* Maintaining strong
relationships with applicable vendors* Chairs, co-chairs or attends
governance meetings and steering committees as applicable to drive
and ensure engagement in change/performance improvement as related
to Biomedical engineering operations.* Works internally with inter
department VP's, Directors, Managers and staff to enhance business
performance and customer experience/support related to bio-medical
services.* Lead the review and ranking of all strategic capital
requests for biomedical equipment, assesses all strategic capital
requests.* Provide organizational communications to facilitate safe
and effective medical technology use.* Demonstrates collaboration,
accountability, respect, service excellence and understanding in
delivery of high quality safest healthcare.
Financial Management
* Reviews all contracts and sales orders within scope to ensure
costs are aligned with budget and financial goals.* Responsible for
planning and executing operating and capital budgets for assigned
cost centers.* Provides financial guidance to other
leaders/departments who must budget for items and projects with a
clinical IT component.* Maintains spend at or below established
budget.* Identifies and executes cost reduction opportunities.*
Maintains a labor force that is staffed to demand.* Effective
management of vendor and contract negotiations to provide the best
possible value and service to NAH while driving out waste.* Act as
a strong financial steward providing guidance and gatekeeping for
organization technology purchases.
Biomedical Engineering Operations
* Oversight of personnel including contractors & Vendors.* Build,
execute and maintain a comprehensive life-cycle and asset
management program for NAH biomedical devices optimizing equipment
uptime, budgeting of replacements, and ensuring safety and
performance in a cost-conscious and expeditious manner.* Build and
maintain bio-medical risk management program to include integration
with IT security, facilities and other departments as appropriate.*
Directs employees with a focus on employee engagement, providing
guidance, leadership and coaching that aligns with NAH's vision,
missions and goals.* Responsible for issue management related to
Biomed operations and functionality.* Responsible for timely and
accurate communication for Biomed issues within scope.* Responsible
for maintaining, upgrading and optimization of Biomedical
systems.
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely
fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related
training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work
environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also
performing work in a safe manner.* Stays current and complies with
state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that
impact the employee's area of responsibility.* If required for the
position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date
and valid prior to expiration dates.* Completes all company
mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the
specified time frame.* Responsible for communicating and ensuring
compliance with changes in regulations, policies and procedures set
by national and state regulatory bodies to the team and
organization. Ensures all Biomed devices deployed function as per
guidelines .* Directs the Biomedical division activities during all
regulatory inspections and audits. Qualifications Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science- Required
Master's degree in Engineering, Healthcare or Business-
Preferred
Experience
Minimum 3 years Biomedical Engineering- RequiredMinimum 3 years
Healthcare or Technology Management experience- RequiredMinimum 3
years Vendor and contract negotiations- RequiredMinimum 2 years
Equipment Management / end to end asset tracking- RequiredMinimum 2
years managing department budget- RequiredDirector level experience
in Healthcare- Preferred
Management of Biomedical Department in Healthcare-
PreferredExperience working with cardiac or RAD PACS systems-
Preferred
Certification & Licensures
Certified Biomedical Engineering Technician- RequiredProject
Management Certification- PMP- PreferredLean Six Sigma Green/Black
Belt Certification- PreferredCALL REQUIRED: Must be able to
physically show upYes-responding within 30 minutes
