Director Business Intelligence Job Locations US-AZ-Flagstaff Requisition ID 2021-9457 Recruiter: STACEY SALYER Recruiter Email: stacey.salyer@nahealth.com Schedule Days Overview Job Summary:The Director Business Intelligence is accountable for the NAH Business Intelligence Department, as well as the organization's delivery of key quality programs (e.g., Meaningful Use, MACRA, etc.). S/he collaborates across data stewards, with clinical, business and IT leaders, and senior leadership to develop information sourcing roadmaps and establish program management teams, in alignment with the broader organization's vision and goals. Responsibilities Essential Job FunctionsStrategic DevelopmentFunctions:
          • Accountable for Leads the developing and implementing the Business Intelligence and Analytics strategy, organizational structure and technical architecture.
          • Demonstrates the ability to process at both strategic and tactical levels, thinking abstractly and communicating with clinical/business/technical stakeholders.
          • Demonstrates the ability to dissect corporate goals, establishing and executing operational plans that transcend the organization.
          • Collaborates with IT, Clinical Staff and Senior Leadership to evaluate, optimize and progress process workflows, with an emphasis on improved outcomes, efficiency and integrity.
          • Overall ownership and responsibility for development of an enterprise Data Strategy which encompasses all aspects of the data lifecycle and promotes the concepts of data democratization and governance at all levels of the enterprise
          • Oversees the vision, strategy, and delivery of insights, for the NAH organization and ensures broad enterprise impact.
          • Works directly with the Senior Leadership Team and across all functions and Service Lines to deliver and influence data driven opportunities across the enterprise.
          • Provides strategic leadership and talent management.
          • Serves as thought leader of data, analytic and insights products and services combining industry best practices, emerging trends and efficiencies with the strategic needs of NAH.
          • Directly and frequently engages with and influences senior leadership in order to effectively promote and advance the opportunities for data-driven decision-making and leveraging wherever possible a leading enterprise data management program.
          • Works closely with Senior Leadership and Executives to ensure alignment of Data and Analytics Strategy with enterprise goals, pillars, and strategy
          • Establishes alignment with the CIO and IT organization on technical strategy, best practices, architecture, and technology roadmaps
          • Works tirelessly throughout the enterprise across all levels of leadership to establish governed and trusted data as a strategic asset for NAH
          • Strong leadership, change management skillset with a broad enterprise operational understandingGovernance/LeadershipFunctions:
            • Chairs and continually improve the governance process to manage and prioritize the handling of all data, information, content requests and related policies for the organization.
            • Models leadership traits and customer service behaviors, through interactions with both internal and external customers, partners and suppliers.
            • Manages a cross-functional group of Intelligence Analysts, Solution Architects and Program Managers around the best practices for the organization (involving analytics, reporting, data integrity and clinical/business problem solving).
            • Develops, implements, refines, and ensures the success of the Enterprise Data Governance program
            • Engages in management processes to prioritize initiatives and resources to align with leadership and optimize business results
            • Builds and develops an effective and high-performing team of analytics and data science talent
            • Provides coaching, drives engagement, and leads change management in all areas of Data Strategy and Management, as well as in full-support of broader NAH goals and initiatives.
            • Ensures all resources are working up to their maximum potential to meet regulatory, customer and internal requirements, meeting all deadlines and following all of the proper policies and procedures
            • Owns and effectively manages key vendor relationships for data management and analytics products and servicesProgram Management--Functions:
              • Develops and directs internal program management offices to mature the organization's delivery of information (e.g., Inpatient/Acute Care, Outpatient/Ambulatory, Finance/Rev Cycle, etc.) and key regulatory programs (e.g., Meaningful Use, MACRA, etc.).
              • Defines measurement criteria for organizational goals and objectives, with cascading process-level metrics and leading indicators.
              • Advises the organization on requirements for key quality and regulatory programs, maintaining a "Book of Evidence" in support of each program.CommunicationFunctions:
                • Translates business desires for functionality into technical plans, and technical constraints into business realities.
                • Communicates strategies and gain enterprise buy-in and funding, in support of delivering on various objectives and their supporting projects.
                • Serves as an enterprise resource for education surrounding Data Literacy, Data Management, Analytics, and key quality and regulatory data privacy requirements including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA/PHI.Compliance/Safety Functions:
                  • If required for position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
                  • Completes all company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame.
                  • Responsible for reporting any safety related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner. Qualifications Education Requirements:
                    • 15+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years of relevant experience- Required
                    • Master's Degree, plus 8+ years of relevant experience- PreferredExperience Requirements:
                      • Experience with hospital operations, data management, healthcare quality and finance practices, and healthcare regulatory programs (e.g., Meaningful Use, MACRA, etc.)- Required
                      • Proven track record of delivering successful projects that add significant value to the organization, via integration of data/analytics and management of operational processes- Required
