About the Role: We are looking for an experienced leader to create and drive ownership of a broad sustainability strategy across the Medical Products Division (MPD) that includes environmental and social responsibility elements. This strategy will support and align to our broader Enterprise Sustainability vision. This commitment creates a great opportunity for an individual who is seeking a strategic global commitment that contributes to the Gore Brand Promise of improving life at the intersection of business, innovation, emerging regulations and changing market expectations. We are open to relocation to one of our Arizona locations (Flagstaff or Phoenix), or would consider a remote work location with willingness to travel to Arizona. Responsibilities: Driving identification of sustainability opportunities for the Division, engaging with Divisional leadership to establish an aligned and supported sustainability strategy, and monitoring the efficiency and effectiveness of the execution plansProviding thought leadership and understanding changes in the external environment including customer, market and regulatory trends and in collaboration with the Enterprise Sustainability Leader, turning them into actionable insights for the Divisional leadershipParticipating in the Enterprise Sustainability Governance Process, and driving the integration of Enterprise and Divisional sustainability prioritiesDriving an aligned communication strategy for sustainability that inspires Associates and provides relevant information for external audiences, and serving as a spokesperson on sustainability matters for external communications for the DivisionDriving development of Divisional capabilities regarding external and internal stakeholder sustainability engagement and technical advocacyDeveloping and maintaining a Divisional sustainability resourcing planContributing to an annual corporate responsibility report that reflects the diversity of products, product innovations, social and environmental initiatives that contribute to advancing prioritized United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs)QualificationsRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, along with the ability to quickly learn new content areas and assimilate large amounts of informationMinimum of 5 years' experience in the content area of environmental and/or social sustainability and/or sustainable innovations, including knowledge of best practices in relevant industries such as medical device and pharmaceuticalSuccessful experience influencing and integrating at multiple levels within a complex organization and aligning stakeholders with diverse needsA minimum 3 years of leadership experience (could include people, strategic project and/or process leadership)Experience with implementing and sustaining programs in a global organizationStrong communication skills - verbal and written, including a demonstrated ability to navigate challenging situations that involve intellectual property, legal and business aspectsHighly tolerant of and able to navigate uncertainty, with a strong ability to pull clarity, simplicity and actionable insights from complexityStrong risk/benefit analysis skills, including the ability to understand the potential impacts of changing external environments and market trends on business strategiesPassionate about sustainability, coupled with creating a win for the business Desired Qualifications:Well-networked in relevant industriesExperience in:Public speaking and engaging with diverse external audiences, from technical/regulatory to NGO and mediaRepresenting organizations in trade associations or standards setting groups What We Offer: At Gore, we offer comprehensive, competitive rewards in the form of compensation and benefits.
