Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Staff
Augmentation Duration: 46 days Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12
hours (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM) Experience: Open to recent graduates and
less than 1 year of experience in skilled nursing facilities or
long-term care experience. License: RN Certifications: CPR/BLS
Card, TB Skin Test, COVID Vaccination Card Must-Have: Level 1
Fingerprint Clearance Card, 7-year background check including
OIG/SAM name clearance check, Skills Assessment Checklist,
Hepatitis B vaccination or declination of offered vaccine,
Competency Tests, Drug Test Description: Schedule consists of
12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Working every other weekend
is required. Responsible for administering medication and
performing treatments on an assigned unit as ordered by a physician
and within the scope of the license. Receives and delivers a
variety of information regarding residents' medical, social,
functional, and other needs. Participates in the receiving and
giving of shift reports. Communicates with residents, family, and
staff as necessary to ensure residents receive appropriate care
from the interdisciplinary team. Performs initial admission nursing
assessments on newly admitted residents. Assists in the development
of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments, ongoing quarterly reviews,
and care plans. Maintains appropriate clinical and administrative
documentation regarding diagnoses, assessments, treatment, and
summaries of client progress. Leads and performs limited
supervision of subordinate staff and assists as needed with direct
resident care for the completion of Activities of Daily Living
(ADLs). Conducts and participates in in-service training and staff
development programs. Utilizes continuous improvement concepts and
tools for problem-solving and efficiency. Performs other duties as
assigned related to the position. Knowledge of
gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practices is essential.
Must understand residents' changing medical, physical, and
psychological care needs. Recognizes the effects of the aging
process. Familiarity with team nursing practices and procedures for
developing treatment plans is required. Knowledge of pharmacology
and medication practices is necessary. Must be able to observe and
assess behavior and progress of patients effectively. Is required
to apply and interpret laws and regulations governing nursing
practices. Ability to develop and carry out patient care plans
within a team nursing concept is essential. Effective oral and
written communication skills are required. Building interpersonal
relationships is important. Must be able to learn, implement, and
monitor continuous improvement methods.
