About the Position Exciting Opportunity for a Neurosurgery
Physician Join a renowned Level I Trauma Center as a Neurosurgery
Physician, delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced,
trauma-focused environment. This pivotal role offers the chance to
work with a dedicated team managing complex adult trauma cases,
performing approximately six surgeries daily, and providing
critical care in a busy, state-of-the-art facility committed to
excellence. Key Responsibilities: Assume 24-hour beeper call
shifts, providing emergent neurosurgical interventions. Manage an
average of six trauma patients daily, bifurcated between surgical
and medical needs. Conduct approximately six surgeries per day,
mainly trauma-related, including cranial and spinal procedures.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including trauma
surgeons, hospitalists, and neurosurgery support staff. Manage
postoperative care alongside neurosurgery PAs, ensuring
comprehensive follow-up and patient recovery. Required Skills:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery. Active Arizona
medical license; IMLC considered. DEA registration in Arizona.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Demonstrated proficiency in
trauma neurosurgery procedures. Strong clinical judgment and
ability to work under pressure. Excellent communication and
teamwork skills. Nice to Have Skills: Experience with cranial and
spinal navigation systems (e.g., Brainlab, Stealth). Familiarity
with operative microscopes (Zeiss, Leica). Knowledge of
neurosurgical robotics and advanced operative technology. Previous
trauma or Level I Trauma Center experience. Ability to use various
implant vendors, including Medtronic and Globus, with pre-approval
for new implants. Preferred Education and Experience: Medical
degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution. Completion of a
neurosurgery residency program. Minimum of 3 years of
post-residency practice in trauma neurosurgery preferred.
Credentialing process completed within 30 days. Other Requirements:
Active AZ medical license; AZ DEA registration. Ability to work
24-hour shifts, 7 AM to 7 AM. Willingness to participate in on-call
rotations and trauma coverage. Travel or licensure reimbursements
available as applicable. This role offers a competitive hourly pay
rate of $4,149.60, with comprehensive benefits including weekly pay
