Job Description:
The Payroll Manager is a member of the Human Resources team
reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer. S/he
supervises the payroll staff and is responsible for successfully
leading the team in the daily operation of a bi-weekly Payroll. The
Manager ensures proper policies and pay practices are adhered to
and in accordance with federal, state and government regulations.
S/he prepares and oversees the processing of tax balancing,
quarterly reporting, year-end and W-2 processing. S/he is
responsible for ensuring Payroll software systems are maintained
and updated accordingly.People Management* Direct the daily payroll
operations, including but not limited to timekeeping, wage
attachments, customer service, deductions and wage payments.*
Conduct new hire selection and ensure successful training and
understanding of Payroll processes and pay practices.* Build and
foster effective workflow and working relationships with HRIS and
departments.* Provide and serve as the subject matter expert
supporting the business and departments with adhoc reporting and
information.* Review and analyze team workload, continuously
enhancing and assess efficiencies and process improvement.* Conduct
evaluations of staff performance, while providing positive
feedback, goals, process improvement and needed education or
training.Data Integrity* Ensure Payroll and related documents are
securely maintained in accordance with federal, state and local
jurisdictions and company policy and procedures.* Provide reporting
requirements to Financial Operations for payroll funding, maintain
general ledger payroll accounts, assist with audits and resolve
discrepancies.* Conduct testing and implementation of system
upgrades and regulatory requirements to ensure conformity and
accuracy,* Develop, build and maintain pay practices within the
workforce timekeeping system to allow payments to employees
accurately.Payroll Project Management* Oversee the reporting of ADP
for tax reports and complete the withholding and related tax
reporting requirements for quarterly and annual W2 processing.*
Stay current with state and federal regulations/statutes and
company policies that impact the employee and/or organization.*
Review payroll documents to ensure proper authorization, accuracy
and conformity.* Coordinated all aspects of timekeeping automated
time entry system, including security, ensuring the system is
within policy and procedure guidelines.Compliance/Safety*
Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely
fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related
training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work
environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also
performing work in a safe manner.* Stays current and complies with
state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that
impact the employee's area of responsibility.* If required for the
position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date
and valid prior to expiration dates.* Completes all company
mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the
specified time frame.High School Diploma or GED- RequiredBachelor's
Degree- Preferred -5+ years of Payroll or equivalent Accounting
experience- RequiredProficiency in Microsoft Office Excel-
RequiredExperience with Payroll, Time and Attendance systems-
PreferredHealthcare is a rapidly changing environment and
technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care.
Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the
organization and throughout each department. Colleagues must have
an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers
and basic software programs.
