Job Description:

The HR Business Partner collaborates with NAH leadership and colleagues to provide counsel and guidance, while driving for building a engaged and thriving workforce. The HR Business Partner will investigate, counsel, and advise management on issues related to employment, leave, accommodation, job performance, human resources regulations and compliance, unemployment, and labor practices. The HR Business Partner serves as the subject matter expert (SME) regarding human resources best practices.Administration* Reviews extended leave requests in order to consider all aspects of the request.* Advises employees and managers regarding NAH policies and procedures including provision of training programs for new colleagues, new supervisors and others as needed.* Works in partnership with Employee Health, Department Leaders and Colleagues to review all ADA requests.* Maintains discipline, investigation and leave files.* Prepares reports to document information about employee concerns, comments, and organizational actions taken.* Prepares, delivers and maintains records of all communications and time sensitive notifications related to employee relations investigations and inquiries, ADA requests for accommodation, FMLA, STD, Military, and ADA interactive process within regulatory timelines.* Review medical certifications for accuracy, completeness and agreement with ODG guidelines, then issues appropriate and time sensitive notification to the leave applicant.* Responds in a timely manner to subpoena requests in collaboration with the Legal Department.* Monitor, review, and evaluate all personnel policies and practices of the organization to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and administrative regulations.* Respond to EEOC complaints.Employee Engagement* In partnership with the HR Leadership and Senior Leadership, develops an annual work plan to facilitate the employee engagement survey.* Activities include, but are not limited to, survey design, organizational alignment, results reporting, system troubleshooting, and working with leaders to develop action plans.Employee Relations* Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.* Makes discipline recommendations in consultation with HR Leadership and/or Chief Human Resources Officer.* Writes timely reports regarding investigations, maintains well organized case files.* Coaches and counsels employees, helping them resolve work related issues.* Reviews and develops policies, procedures, and practices regarding human resources related matters.* Answers questions and provides information to employees and managers regarding the interpretation and explanation of human resources programs, policies, and procedures.* Counsels and advises managers on best practices and proper procedures for handling personnel matters and issues including discipline, performance, behaviors, leaves of absence, and evaluations.* Maintains effective employer-employee relationships that contribute to high performance, motivation, and morale.* Coordinates and facilitates the appeal process.* Follows up on "ethics" reporting line complaints and conducts investigations and completes reports.* Provides advice and guidance regarding discipline, grievances, leave, FLSA, FMLA, and ADA.Performance Management/Talent Management* In partnership with the HR Leadership, participates in the annual performance review process to ensure compliance with the completion of timely performance evaluations.* Activities to include, but not limited to, developing an annual work plan, preparing and launching system forms and templates, education to leaders regarding the process and how to conduct productive and effective review discussions, tracking and monitoring completion of reviews.* Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning. -Reward and Recognition* Participates in employee recognition programs, including the planning and execution of the Employee Recognition Banquets.Team Effectiveness/Facilitation* Facilitates 1/1 or group discussions to address challenges within a team and works toward developing effective solutions and agreement between the parties.Training and Development* Develops and delivers management and leadership training to improve leadership capability, employee performance, and engagement.* Assists with NAH Leadership Development programs.Compliance/Safety* Responsible for reporting any safety related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employees area of responsibility.* If required for position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame.EducationBachelor's degree in business, human resources, psychology, organizational development or related field - Required -Master's degree in business, human resources, psychology, organizational development or related field - Preferred -Certificates and LicensurePHR or SPHR - PreferredSHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP - Preferred -ExperienceMinimum of three years human resources related experience working in employee relations - Required -In-depth experience and knowledge with US Labor Laws - Required -Healthcare experience - Preferred -Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department. Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs.
