Workplace Culture

NAU is a community devoted to student success and sustained by an unshakable commitment to our shared mission, vision, and values. We—faculty, staff, and administrators—thrive by combining our efforts and working side by side to further NAU’s culture of excellence.

Special Information

Personalized Learning (PL) incorporates innovative teaching and learning methods. Administered by NAU Online, PL differs from, but complements, the traditional classroom-based academic model, with the goal for students to achieve deeper learning through a personalized approach of multiple, hybrid and effective learning methods and modalities and within timeframes that best meet the students' needs. Our model combines best learning practices to ensure competency, including: shared and open- source content; multiple delivery modules such as video and simulations; faculty-led mentorships and tutoring; customized instruction; and pre- and post-competency testing. Tuition is based on length of time rather than by course or credit hours, providing a financial incentive to the student to complete their degree in a timely or accelerated fashion.

This is a 12-month, non-tenured, faculty position. Annual continuation of appointment will depend on program success, the ability to provide students with the academic content and tools to succeed, and continued funding.
