We-faculty, staff, and administrators-thrive by combining our efforts and working side by side to further NAU's culture of excellence.Special InformationThis position is located in the Phoenix area.Immigration Suppt/SponsorshipNAU will not provide any U.S. immigration support or sponsorship for this position.Job DescriptionCoordinates and organizes student teaching database, scheduling, communication, and documentation for 16 student teaching courses, which includes approximately 325 course sections for 550 to 600 student teachers annually. The student teaching courses represent a required course for 20 nationally accredited, state approved degree programs leading to teacher certification offered through five NAU colleges. This position oversees a large volume of communication from students, university supervisors, and cooperating teachers, and processes and tracks approximately 150 change and special requests from student teachers annually, including supporting the placement of approximately 55 students annually who pursue Alternative Teaching Certificate, Student Teaching Intern Certificate, out of state, and international student teaching placements, which require significant, additional internal and external processing. This position verifies degree postings after successful completion of student teaching and issues an Institutional Recommendations to students as well as submission of an official report of teacher preparation graduates to the Arizona Department of Education. The position coordinates in-person and online orientation meetings for student teachers and multiple trainings/meetings annually for approximately 80 university supervisors. This position also oversees the implementation and tracking of the student teaching evaluation instrument completed by an average of 750 cooperating teachers each academic year. In addition, this position responds to approximately 140 program verification requests annually from alumni seeking certification out of state. The individual in this role works with the Director of the Professional Education Programs to ensure appropriate degree program, state certification, and accreditation policies and practices are followed in relation to student teaching and associated placements. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
