Position Title: Team Leader TSW (Transition from School To Work)

Department/Section: Coconino High School

Supervisor: Principal

Hourly Rate: $15.20 - $15.72/hour (depending on experience)

Pay Grade: 8

Schedule: 31.5 hours/week (6.5 hours M,T,Th,F; 5.5 W); Monday-Friday (hours TBD); 9 month position; Benefits offered; Arizona State Retirement System


Responsible for job coaching at risk and special needs students at work sites in the community setting. Supervise and assist student workers at job sites so as to maintain positive, meaningful employment. Also responsible for developing and maintaining strong TSW community and school networks. Coordinate activities for secondary students with special needs, provide vocational assessment and assist in the development of student transition plans.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

* Provide supervision and job-coaching for students during work site placement. * Mentor and guide TSW students from enrollment in the TSW program through graduation. This will involve assisting mentored TSW students with scheduling of classes, facilitation of job shadows, facilitation of potential employment, scheduling of ASVAB, ACT and/or SAT testing, meeting with military recruiters and/or post-secondary school DR coordinators, college and FAFSA applications, etc. * Implement approved strategies for behavior management. * Counsel students regarding appropriate conduct and self-discipline. * Apply approved emergency procedures in case of accident, injury or severe student misbehavior * Make regular follow-up visits to students' work sites to monitor job skills. * Maintain monthly case notes and daily activity log on all students who participate in work experience. * Provide evaluation for students' onsite work performance. * Provide Teacher Coordinator with information and written reports of students' progress at work sites. * Maintain absolute confidentiality of student information

Education and Experience

* High school diploma or equivalent certification required. * Candidate must meet NCLB qualifications; NCLB = 60 post-secondary hours of college coursework or minimum of an AA Degree (or higher) or meet the minimum score required on an Arizona Department of Education approved test. (The FUSD Family Resource Center administers the Parapro test. Call 928-774-1103 for more information and to schedule a testing time.). In addition, please submit documentation showing how you meet the NCLB requirement (attach transcripts, copy of degree or copy of parapro assessment scores). * Knowledge of/ experience working with RSA-Vocational Rehabilitation preferred * Knowledge of/ experience working with post-secondary education sites, programs, financial aid, disability resources, etc., preferred * Knowledge of/ experience working with public secondary education programs, students with special needs, case managers knowledge of/ experience working with, IEPs, etc., preferred * Knowledge of/ experience working with vocational assessments, summaries of student transition needs, etc., preferred * Knowledge of/ experience working with community resources, local businesses, business organizations, etc., preferred
