Proposition Working for a world class leader in building structures
and bridges, a Schuff Steel Production Welder brings his/her
expertise and knowledge in fabrication to build some of the most
complex and high profile projects in the commercial building,
bridge and industrial sectors. Critical to the production process
this position welds a large variety of materials by FCAW, SMAW,
GMAW and SAW. The production welder welds in all positions utilizes
a high degree of proficiency while utilizing full skills of the
trade including knowledge of common heat reactions of structural
metals and is certifiable. To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential responsibilities
satisfactorily. Core Responsibilities -- Follows applicable welding
procedures ( AWS, AISC) -- Welds on ground level, above ground and
below ground, in any required position. -- Chips peens and grinds
material to prepare for welding or finish. -- Welds structural,
bridge and industrial materials such as plates, sheets, girders,
tanks, etc., occasionally involving uncommon structural metals or
machine metals under close tolerances of heat application and
workmanship. -- Perform gouging and scarfing as needed. -- Capable
of passing welding test in accordance to AWS D1.1. -- Transport
material by crane as needed and required. -- Keeps work area
organized and clean. -- Perform other routine duties per management
direction. -- Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE

Education/Training - Work Experience High school diploma or general
education degree (GED), and/or 12 months of stable work experience.

Certificates & Licenses -- Equipment Knowledge & Skills --- variety
of hand tools and welding equipment -- Language Skills: Ability to
read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. -- Mathematical
Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units
of measure. -- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense
understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,
or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several
concrete variables in standardized situations. -- Certificates,
Licenses, Registrations: Cert in AWS D1.1 weld test Software &
Technology Position will require the frequent use of Kronos for
timekeeping Work Environment & Physical Demands The work

vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color, depth
perception, and ability to adjust focus. -- Mental and visual
application required to interpret drawings, layout, and plan work.

followed. -- Work on jobs while applying safety rules at all times.
