Job Description:

About the Role: We are looking for a Teamcenter Data Steward to join the Medical Products Division (MPD) Business Process and Data (BPD) team, and, to drive Teamcenter Product Lifecyle Management (PLM) Program implementations throughout MPD.

Associates in a Teamcenter Data Steward/Analyst role work closely with New Product Development (NPD), Manufacturing, and Supply Chain stakeholders as well as the MPD Process and Data Leader and Domain Data Champions managing divisional, or enterprise business processes and the data created or transformed during process development and sustainment. The Data Steward is responsible for ensuring that the business process and data requirements are met through the use of Data Governance, Modelling and Design, and Performance Monitoring and Improvement efforts. The Data Steward ensures the consistent use of business and data terminology, and that data management practices align with industry standard best practices and Gore's Enterprise Data Governance. The Data Steward works with divisional stakeholders, IT Business Analysts, and the Enterprise Data Team to define the data requirements needed to support the PLM business process, and to ensure the quality and trustworthiness of the data. As part of the BPD team, the Data Steward works with IT to define how business processes flow through multiple IT platforms to support the unique data and information needs of MPD globally. The Data Steward is responsible for remediating any data quality issues that are identified and helping to identify solutions to prevent recurrence of the problem.

This position offers multiple work arrangements: on-site at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona, hybrid or fully remote work allowedin most locations within thee United States, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:

Business process:

  • Define data management programs to meet business process options and business needs/outcomes within the context of Product Lifecycle Management for MPD
  • Partner with appropriate MPD New Product Development (NPD), Manufacturing, and Supply Chain SMEs to translate business/functional strategies and business processes into data process requirements aligning with functional vision and strategy; serve as a divisional advocate for data change impacts
  • Partner with Team Leader, Business Process Analysts, and other Data Stewards to implement/document data management plan to meet a harmonized set of end-to-end business processes and systems solutions while leading the development and sustainment of more detailed data process/management documentation for divisional execution of and alignment to the enterprise data processes
  • Collaborate with team and other Data Stewards to define business process KPI's to serve as indicators of process health; build data sustainment model to include reviewing/monitoring business process health metrics and identify areas of concern or opportunities for improvement related to the Enterprise level set of harmonized business processes and systems solutions
  • Assist in developing and implementing training programs; lead the effort to train and guide teammates on how to properly perform the process and manage/maintain data integrity (support learning organization)
    Data management:
    • Identify and guide the development and sustainment of detailed data process documentation for divisional execution and definition & alignment of data management programs to meet business process options and business needs/outcomes for MPD Product Lifecycle Management .
    • Partner with the business to define the data quality requirements/metrics; develop and implement a data control plan and apply data processes to improve data quality, data controls, monitors; conduct business & data metrics analysis and conduct root cause analysis for identified data quality issues; manage corrective actions and preventative actions for data escalations
    • Collaborate with data governance facilitators to implement and maintain data governance processes, including risk assessment and analysis, escalation processes and continuous improvement
    • Provide situational leadership and/or mentorship for associates involved in daily data maintenance for business engagement, for data processes, and continuous improvement effort
    • Provide data/application subject matter expertise for system upgrades, new capability pursuits and resolution of more complex problems/issues
      Required Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or similar) OR minimum 5 years demonstrated experience with data in PLM processes
      • Recent demonstrated experience managing and analyzing data to support PLM (Teamcenter) metrics while integrating with or supporting tools/platforms and technology processes including integration with ERP (SAP preferred) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
      • Demonstrated experience in driving change orders in PLM related to BOIs/BOMs and documentation
      • Prior experience executing data governance processes to make decisions, identify risks, and drive issues to resolution while aligning to Enterprise (corporate) and MPD (divisional) goals & objectives
      • Demonstrated ability in requirements gathering, mapping data across business processes/workflows and aligning to system capabilities
      • Demonstrated ability and aptitude to think analytically, problem solve and perform detail-oriented work
      • Demonstrated ability to drive projects to business decisions, influence broadly, work through ambiguity, understand varied audiences, and craft appropriate oral and written communication
      • A bility to travel 10% (working remotely will increase the expectation to travel)
        Desired Qualifications:
        • Prior experience with products, customers and/or processes in healthcare/life sciences
        • Prior experience with business process or process improvement mapping, with knowledge of business process classification frameworks, theories, principles, and practices using Visio or ARIS
        • Prior knowledge and experience working with Teamcenter PLM system .
          Remote Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore's remote working policies, from the country in which they are employed. For fully remote roles, the following locations are not eligible for new fully remote work arrangements: Alaska and Hawaii (for all roles), and Rhode Island (for wage/hourly roles only).
