Job Description:

About the Role: We are seeking an Associate to lead and oversee the day-to-day machining and tooling inspection and repair activities for multiple locations with a focus on internal customer support, on time delivery, procedure compliance, and Associate development. This Associate is the point of contact for Machining and Tooling Inspection and repair activities/questions/concerns. The Local Machining Leader will need to partner and build strong relationships with diverse teams within the facility and throughout the medical products division.

This role will be located at our Woody Spring facility in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors team performance and metrics to ensure Machining and Tooling Inspection operations, practices and systems deliver quick, high quality and efficient services to support manufacturing, R&D, and New Product Development teams. Initiates and communicates a variety of personnel actions
  • Accountable for onboarding, training, and development of new and transferred associates
  • Provides routine communication and interaction with local leadership
  • Understands local strategy and participates in strategic and tactical priority setting and tracking with Machining and Tooling Coordinators
  • Responsible for Gore Time approval, associate eLearn training and machining and tooling inspection/repair support coverage (vacation, sick)
  • Responsible for holding Performance and Development discussions with the team
  • Understands all safety, regulatory and quality procedures that affect the team and ensures compliance
  • Ensures functional processes and procedures are implemented and adhered to while partnering with machining leadership to create & implement change in support of strategic initiatives
  • Drives continuous improvement efforts and utilizes lean manufacturing principles
  • Additional responsibilities as required within the scope of position

    Required Qualifications:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a shop or manufacturing environment
    • Demonstrated experience leading teams and/or managing multiple projects and priorities
    • Experience partnering with diverse customers and functional groups
    • Experience leading activities for manufacturing, maintenance and/or machine shop teams
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to travel up to 15%

      Desired Qualifications:
      • Competency with Microsoft Office applications and typing
      • Strong knowledge of manufacturing maintenance and processes within FDA, or ISO environment
      • Knowledge of FDA, ISO, or other regulated quality systems
