Special Information The selected candidate for this position may reside in either our North Phoenix or Flagstaff campus. Some travel between the two campuses will be required. Job Description This position works with the School of Nursing, advising and NAU On-Line accepting, reviewing and processing applications for the Nursing Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP), RN to BSN and RN to BSN PL programs. This position requires a dynamic, outgoing, personable and energetic individual facilitating application processing and communications to a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Processes detailed applications for Nursing's Concurrent Enrollment, RN to BSN and Personalized Learning programs Identifies multiple entry points to process and identifies staff in other departments to clarify applications, requirements, documentation, and other required elements of the application process Reaches out to students and internal customers to provide application status updates or request clarification Reviews and Processes transcripts to determine transfer credits, GPA, missing coursework, and admissibility standards Updates tracking spreadsheets to communicate application receipt, processing updates, missing elements, acceptance or denial Takes proactive measure to ensure prompt resolution of obstacles; Responds to student questions and concerns; works with students to resolve issues Identifies options for learners to satisfy degree requirements; evaluates and makes recommendations on petitions and amendments to student's application materials and transfer credit report in order to provide thorough student service Maintains and updates computerized information systems (e.g., Salesforce, student drives) files and records regarding student admissions, student groups and program progression Add, update and maintain CEP / RN-BSN student groups. Track student from application to program completion. Add, update and maintain CEP / RN-BSN / PL alumni records Participate in appropriate Alumni events (chapters) Server as primary contact with University representatives for all application changes and updates. Communicates with Nursing schedule of classes coordinator to ensure appropriate sections for cohorts. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in field related to area of assignment; OR, Four years clerical or related experience which includes two years' experience evaluating credentials or working with academic and graduation policies; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Salesforce CRM, PeopleSoft Student Information System, Business Objects and Enterprise Reporting tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Keynote, and Prezi. Experience and/or knowledge of higher education practices, policies, and procedures Experience in the field of student development Knowledge of the principles and practices pertaining to admissions and orientation, as well as, enrollment management. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Excellent communication, organizational and training skills. Demonstrated skill in both verbal and written communication. Skill in problem solving and decision-making. Skill in planning, analyzing and coordinating activities and establishing priorities. Excellent customer service traits and the ability to handle conflict and diffuse situations. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Ability to work outside of standard business days and hours. Background Information Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, an employment history verification and a degree verification (in some cases) prior to employment. You may also be required to complete a fingerprint background check. Additionally, as an employer in the state of Arizona, NAU is required to participate in the federal E-Verify program that assists employers with verifying new employees' right to work in the United States. Finally, each year the Northern Arizona University Police Department releases an annual security report. The report is a result of the federal law known as the Clery Act and contains policy statements that address the school's policies, procedures and programs concerning safety and security including policies for responding to emergency situations and sexual offenses. The report contains three years of data for Clery reportable crime statistics for the campus along with the most current year's Fire Safety Report, which includes policy statements and fire statistics for Flagstaff on-campus student housing. The report may be viewed at nau.edu/clery or by visiting the NAUPD website . A printed copy of the report is available upon request by contacting the NAU Police Department, Records Department at (928)523-8884 or by visiting the department at Building 98A on the NAU Mountain Campus. Salary This position's pay grade is 41. The salary range for this paygrade can be found on the CLS Grade Schedule . The starting salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected applicant balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. FLSA Status This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The incumbent is eligible for overtime pay or compensatory time according to University policy. Further, the employee must submit timesheets that accurately reflect all hours worked. Benefits This is a Classified Staff (CLS) position.
